Some applications continue running after their windows are closed
Closing a window does not always mean Windows has been told to end the application process. Many apps deliberately keep a background process for notifications, tray controls, updates, sync, or a faster next launch. First identify the exact process in Task Manager and check whether the app has a “run in background,” “close to tray,” sync, or startup option. If it does, disable that option inside the app rather than repeatedly ending the process. Then check Task Manager’s Startup apps tab and disable only entries you recognize and do not need at sign-in. If the process remains after choosing the app’s explicit Exit command, try Repair from Installed apps; use Reset only if Repair does not help, because Reset can remove app-specific data. If it affects only one product, it is normally an application-design or application-bug issue, so collect its version and contact that publisher rather than changing unrelated Windows services.
