"Show More Options" is usability in reverse

Title pretty much says it all. "Show More Options" is the kind of addition that a manager would love... "LOOK... streamlining!!". Except it literally makes the OS less usable. I now have to click 3 times instead of 2 to rename a file. If it's going to stay, let's at least put some no-brainers back on there... there's no way IMO these should not be in the 1st set of selections:

  1. Rename
  2. Send To
  3. Refresh

Always use proper uninstallation or removal methods, or trusted scripts.

The most straightforward way to eliminate the extra click is to add a specific key to your Windows Registry. This tells Windows to skip the new compressed menu and default to the classic one instead.

Thank you! I did find that in looking into the issue before i posted... my point was more to provide feedback regarding the tactic of "streamlining" menus that I don't feel need to be streamlined.

Beyond that, the choices to hide behind the "more options" I don't feel were based on amount of use. "Rename" and "Refresh" don't make the cut when it comes to popularity for right click commands? Really?

The allure of streamlining and simplifying options can be enticing, but at the cost of user experience and usability, it's a step in the wrong direction. The "Show More Options" feature, while aesthetically pleasing, can indeed make the operating system less user-friendly.

As you've mentioned, renaming a file or folder should be a straightforward, two-click process, not a three-click ordeal.
