SharedPC mode : Account Cleanup maintenance

Hello,

I manage a fleet of around fifty Windows 10 PCs, configured in SharedPC mode since 2018. We offer the public a fully secure PC and a unique and private user experience with the guarantee that all data is immediately erased after disconnecting from the account.

SharedPC mode is configured to join domain accounts only (AccountModel = 1) and Maintenance to delete accounts immediately on logout (DeletionPolicy = 0).

Currently, this functionality is fully operational and gives us complete satisfaction. The accounts are effectively deleted within 5 seconds maximum following the disconnection of the account.

I am currently preparing the migration of these workstations to Windows 11.

All tests performed under W11 21h1 and 22h2 show maintenance malfunction, accounts are never deleted after logout. It seems that the Account Cleanup task is never executed

I would like to have here your feedback and any useful information on what appears to me to be a bug in the Account Cleanup maintenance service in SharedPC mode.

Cordially,

Jerome F.

Since this appears to be a change or bug introduced in Windows 11, opening a support ticket with Microsoft might be necessary, especially if you've confirmed that all configuration settings are correct and the scheduled tasks are missing or misfiring.

Hi Jerome.  Did you ever find a solution to this on Windows 11?
