Setting up a New Desktop Installation
I often find myself reinstalling Windows multiple times throughout the year. It is a routine I have developed to safeguard my system from any potential corrupt files, and surprisingly enough, I find a sense of satisfaction in the process. Over the years and across various Windows editions, one thing has remained consistent.
Upon completing the installation of my essential applications, I meticulously arrange the icons on my desktop to my liking. However, each time I perform a task on the computer or initiate a reboot, the icons revert back to their original, disorganized positions. I repeat the process of rearranging them multiple times, only to see the same outcome. Eventually, after several attempts, the icons end up staying where I have placed them.
This pattern has persisted over the years, unaffected by different Windows versions. Even after configuring the View settings to Auto and Sort to Type, the issue persists. Is there a specific number of attempts required for this to happen deliberately?
I am curious to know why it takes multiple tries for the icons to finally stay in their new positions. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
