The update that was installed just this past week has really messed up CPU and memory usage.  Please fix this.

Some windows 11 update messed up the performance, I'm having the same issue with SDD 100% usage. The problem is the virtual memory, because I had disable the function to clear virtual memory before shut down (in regedit) and everything went fine in term of SSD performance but I don't have how to clean the virtual memory manually and eventually the memory gets full and I had to reset the regedit param to default. You can try disabling virtual memory but the disavantage of this is you're probably going to have aplications crashes and browsers errors related to insufficient virtual memory. I waiting for real fix update.

  • Before jumping to conclusions, it’s helpful to see what’s actually consuming your memory. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and go to the Processes tab. Check if any particular application is using an unusual amount of RAM. If you find a resource-hogging app, try closing it and see if performance improves.

Windows 11 24H2, the gift that keeps on giving – in this case, a severe case of amnesia, or rather, memory loss! (chuckles) So, you've got a shiny new Windows 11 upgrade, and suddenly your system can't keep a secret to itself: it's using up all your memory like a social media addict!

Go to Settings > System > About > Advanced system settings. Under Performance, click Settings, then go to the Advanced tab and click on Change under Virtual Memory. You can either set it to system managed size or configure a custom size. Restart your computer afterwards.

That's a good explanation for adjusting virtual memory! A quick follow-up question: How would you recommend calculating a custom size for virtual memory? For example, should it be based on the amount of RAM in the system, and if so, is there a specific formula or ratio to follow?

Some applications may start automatically and use up memory. In Task Manager, go to the Startup tab and disable any unnecessary startup applications.

I have exactly the same problem and I've already tried everything, including SFC, and it didn't help.

For me, it looks like the system suddenly starts using 100% of the RAM and one of the SSDs reaches 100% activity. After a few minutes, the usage returns to normal, but several processes get killed. I'm currently looking for the cause. So far, I've identified abnormal behavior in DWM and Skype when the issue occurs.

Have you analyzed the problem in more detail and do you have any new findings?

I will add that Microsoft is deprecating Skype, so it is safe to uninstall that app and move over to Teams
