Remote access to asleep computer
Can a computer in sleep mode be remotely accessed? I had a problem with unauthorized access to my computer with access to my financial companies, resulting to attempted fund wires and the accounts being locked. Hopefully the computer is clean; anti-virus programs have been run, and browser caches cleared. In case the malicious software still is on the computer is it possible to remotely access it when it is in sleep mode?

Some malware is designed to remain active and listen for commands while the system is in a low-power state.
Change all your critical passwords and enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on all financial and email accounts.
For extended periods away from your computer, consider using Hibernation instead of Sleep. This saves your session to disk and powers down completely, making it far more secure.
