Registry key stuck under PendingFileRenameOperations

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager \

PendingFileRenameOperations

*1\??\C:\Windows\System32\gamingservicesproxy_13.dll.0

Manual delete and reboot not working, it will auto generate after reboot.

To resolve this, you need to address the root cause—the failing Gaming Services installation or update—rather than just the registry symptom.

Don't worry, this is a common Windows issue, and you can fix it by manually deleting the registry key and then taking steps to stop it from being recreated.

      1. stop the services.
      2. delete the registry
      3. delete the file
      4. reboot the machine.

the registry and the file will still generate after reboot
