Pressing Ctrl + Shift + Z does not undo the action, but Ctrl + Y does.
After performing an undo operation in File Explorer, pressing Ctrl + Shift + Z does not redo the undone action, but pressing Ctrl + Y does redo it normally.
This behavior is inconsistent with the default Ctrl + Shift + Z shortcut used in many other applications, leading to confusion regarding usage habits.

This is expected behavior in File Explorer rather than a keyboard problem. File Explorer uses the traditional Windows shortcut:
- Ctrl + Z: Undo
- Ctrl + Y: Redo
Ctrl + Shift + Z is commonly used for Redo in many other applications, but Windows does not require every program to use the same shortcuts, and File Explorer does not currently assign an action to it.
There is no built-in File Explorer setting to change this. The simplest solution is to use Ctrl + Y. Alternatively, PowerToys Keyboard Manager can remap Ctrl + Shift + Z to Ctrl + Y specifically for explorer.exe. Be aware that this may also affect the desktop and taskbar because they use the same Explorer process.
In File Explorer Options, switch the keyboard shortcuts to Windows Classic Mode to standardize the “Undo” shortcut to Ctrl+Y.
To stop the script, right-click the AutoHotkey icon in the system tray and choose Exit.
