PowerShell process keeps appearing repeatedly
I recently acquired a new laptop, the Lenovo i7 with 16GB of RAM running Windows 11 Home. However, I've been experiencing poor battery life, which led me to investigate the issue. Upon checking the settings, I noticed that Powershell was consuming a significant portion of the battery usage, around 46%. Furthermore, I observed that Powershell kept appearing briefly for a second or so in the Task Manager repeatedly.
In an attempt to address this issue, I utilized GPedit to restrict Powershell from running by blocking Powershell.exe, Powershell_ise.exe, and Pwsh.exe. I also disabled it through the Windows Features dialog box. However, despite these efforts, Powershell continues to make brief appearances after each reboot, as indicated by Task Manager.
Considering uninstalling Powershell crossed my mind, but it doesn't appear in the list of removable programs. The only additional software I've installed so far is "Start 11 v2" from Stardock.
If you have any suggestions or advice on how to resolve this persistent Powershell issue, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Cliff
