Pop up messages that my PC is infected

The alert you’re seeing isn’t from Windows or Defender - it’s actually a fake notification from Microsoft Edge. A malicious website (in this case, boob.co.in) was likely allowed to send notifications to your computer, which is why the pop-ups appear even outside your browser. These scam sites mimic real Windows security alerts and try to make you click things like “Delete Viruses” or “Fix Now,” but doing so can lead to phishing pages or malware.

To fix it, open Microsoft Edge and go to edge://settings/content/notifications. There, remove or blockany suspicious sites such as boob.co.in. After that, clear your browsing data and reset Edge to its default settings (edge://settings/reset). Windows Defender never sends virus alerts through your browser or asks you to click a link. It’s a good idea to run a full Windows Defender scan or use Microsoft Safety Scanner just to make sure your system is completely clean.

That right there is a scam pop up, I'd avoid clicking that if I was you.

However, judging by the fact that you can't reset your PC to factory settings, it's possible that you have clicked it already and it has done some damage.

I'd suggest you go into the search menu on Windows 11 or 10, search Windows Defender, toggle everything, do a scan and try to clear everything that way.

If it doesn't work, make sure to back up any important files that you have into OneDrive, but be very careful you don't back up the infected files. Delete any traces.

Once everything's backed up to Onedrive, you need a spare USB flash drive, and you need to create a bootable USB by flashing a Windows 11 or 10 ISO so that you can reinstall and redownload Windows. This will delete all your files so watch out.

First, to start this. Click on this link (no need if you don't trust) or search up Windows ISO.

Either scroll down and download an ISO, or download the Windows Media Creation Tool that will give you two options. To upgrade this PC and redownload Windows (probably not this one just in case the virus has broken Windows), and create a Windows ISO.

Once the ISO is downloaded (will take a while), download Rufus. This is a program that flashes USB drives and makes them bootable.

Then plug in a spare USB flash drive that has zero files. Click on the Windows ISO you have installed and flash it to the USB drive. This will wipe all files and will make it bootable.

Now search up Bitlocker Recovery Key into the Windows search bar, and try to find an option that says backup Bitlocker Key and back it up to your Microsoft account (this will be important if your drive is encrypted). Then you need to search up advanced startup options on the search bar on the taskbar, then click reset now. Go to advanced startup options (I don't know what it is) and click on secure boot to disable secure boot (if it is enabled of course). It will prompt you to put in your Microsoft Bitlocker Recovery Key. 

Go onto a different device like your phone, login to Microsoft My Account.

Go to Devices, go to your laptop, and look for Bitlocker Recovery Key. Now put that Bitlocker Recovery Key into the menu to disable secure boot.

Then once that's done, reset and go back to the advanced startup menu. Then go to USBs or what that option says, and click enter on the USB you have flashed. It will take you to the Windows 10 or 11 install screen. This will delete all your files so watch out.
