Please allow desktops in a user account to have ifferent contents!
Dear Microsoft developers,
at the moment in Windows 11, the ability to have multiple desktops as described in the following link sounds great:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/configure-multiple-desktops-in-windows-36f52e38-5b4a-557b-2ff9-e1a60c976434
However, I was very disappointed to find that (within a single user) all the desktops share the same storage folder. So, they all have the same links, folders, files and layout...
This clearly contradicts Microsoft's own intention as described in the above link: for example, if I want to manage multiple projects, then I don't want to see all the tools and data from all the other projects while I am working on one of them, that completely defeats the whole point of having multiple desktops as far as I'm concerned.
Strangely enough, the much more difficult sounding feature of having a different set of tasks running in each desktop seems to work very well! But without the ability to configure the desktop itself individually, this great feature is sadly unusable for most people.
So, please, please, please allow a different storage folder to be specified for each desktop, thank you!
Windows 11's multiple desktops share a common underlying folder structure and taskbar settings, which limits their usefulness for users who need truly isolated workspaces. Your suggestion to enable each virtual desktop to have its own dedicated storage folder and customized layout aligns with what many power users and professionals desire.

For users managing multiple projects, workflows, or contexts, the inability to separate data and layout diminishes the productivity benefits of multiple desktops.
