Phone Link Disable at Start up
Phone Link is taking up 1.6 GB of memory. I would like to either uninstall it or prevent it from loading at startup.
I have:
- Turned it off in Setup / Apps / Startup
- Disabled it in Phone Link Settings
- Disabled it in Task Manager
Nothing seems to have any effect - it's there in the task manager instantly after startup.
Any help would be appreciated.
- Jones1595Copper ContributorIf you have already tried disabling Phone Link in the Setup, Apps, and Task Manager settings, but it still loads at startup, you can try the following steps:
Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
Type "msconfig" and press Enter to open the System Configuration window.
In the System Configuration window, navigate to the "Startup" tab.
Look for an entry related to Phone Link or any other related application.
Uncheck the box next to the entry to disable it from loading at startup.
Click on Apply and then OK to save the changes.
Restart your computer to see if Phone Link no longer loads at startup.- bytemonCopper ContributorThe only option I find at System Configuration / Startup is "Open Task Manager". As I mentioned in my original post, I had already disabled Phone Link as a startup app in Task Manager.
- XandrathiiCopper ContributorI have followed loads of suggestions on how to turn it off/remove it... my problem was that it was disabled at start up but still showing as an application running on my GPU, i un checked "Phone Service" in msconfig win 10 and it seems to have gone away. I am sad that i couldent just remove it in my apps.
- SrlissCopper ContributorOpen Task Scheduler and click on "Task Scheduler Library" in the left pane. Look for a task related to "Phone Link" or "Your Phone". Right-click on the task and select "Disable".
