No option to Download and install Windows 11 in Windows Update
- Aug 29, 2025
Windows 10 to 11 upgrade doesn't change edition, so you'll be on Windows 11 Home.
If the update is not being offered automatically, you need to manually update. You can use Windows 11 Installation Assistant or use the Windows 11 ISO file to upgrade:

Hello DJFlatland,
1 - I now have Windows 10 Home version 22H2. Will the Windows 11 update be Windows 11 Home?
Yes,
Windows 10 Home → Windows 11 Home
Windows 10 Pro → Windows 11 Pro
2 - Do I really need to use Windows 11 Installation Assistant?
Is recommended to use the "Windows 11 Installation Assistant" PC Health Check tool: https://aka.ms/GetPCHealthCheckApp
This tool will check the minimum system requirements for Windows 11, such as:
TPM 2.0
Secure Boot
UEFI firmware
Compatible CPU (8th Gen Intel or Ryzen 2000 series and newer)
4 GB RAM
64 GB Hard Disk or SSD
I'm going to use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
Thanks for everyone's help.
