My wireless connection drops every 30 minutes
Your Wi-Fi drops at a fixed 30-minute interval on every router, despite driver updates, disabled power saving, and a network reset. That makes the PC the common factor, but timing alone cannot show whether the adapter, WLAN service, VPN/security filter, or another background program initiated the disconnect.
Immediately after the next drop, open Command Prompt as administrator and run netsh wlan show wlanreport. Open the generated HTML report and inspect the affected session’s Disconnect Reason, red error event, adapter driver version, and any Problem number. Then run the Network and Internet troubleshooter in Get Help. If neither identifies a cause, test a clean boot for longer than 30 minutes with third-party VPN, security, and network-optimization software disabled. Re-enable items in groups if Wi-Fi stays connected. If it still drops during a clean boot, reinstall the PC manufacturer’s adapter driver and give the WLAN report to the manufacturer or Microsoft support.
