My Cursor disappears when writing in Word, editor or any Office program.
Hello, while writing in Word, Wordpad, Libreoffice and editor, my cursor Disappears. I tried every option, resetting my setting to an older date, updating my drivers, disabling the option in the properties of my Mouse, switchting to "beam_r". I dont know but nothing helpes. I would be Happy if someone could help because Microsoft Tech support couldnt help me and send me to this place.
and sorry if I have choosen the wrong Labels, idk which one would fit in here.

Did you mean the "I" cursor? if that's really what you mean it's on "Text Cursor Thickness". You can do this: On Windows Search Box just type "Text Cursor" and Choose the thickness (like image below): Alexander1337
Hope this help.š¾

- In word go to `Options` in `Main` menu
- Now go to `Advanced` in `Word Options` windows
- Uncheck 7th option from top in `Editing options` -> Use smart cursoring
- Now your cursor should not disappear

Alexander1337 I think I found the solution. It worked for me at least. In the search tipe in mouse. Under Touch/Mouse Mode click on Mouse (it should be on it by default, but when I clicked on it it fixed for me).
Hope it workes for you as well.

- BerequilCopper ContributorOne possible solution to explore is checking if there are any conflicting applications or background processes causing interference with the cursor display. Sometimes, third-party software or utilities can disrupt normal cursor behavior. Additionally, ensuring that your operating system and office applications are fully up-to-date might resolve any software-related glitches causing the cursor disappearance.
- GrelinkCopper ContributorEnsure that the mouse settings in Windows are configured correctly. Go to Settings > Devices > Mouse and make sure that the mouse pointer settings are as expected. You can also try changing the pointer scheme to see if it makes a difference.

Ilias1365I've been having the same problem. None of the solutions suggested here worked for me, but what *does* appear to have worked was scrolling about half way down Options... Advanced and checking the box labelled 'Disable hardware graphics acceleration'.

I don't understand how, but when I changed the cursor from white to black, it fixed the issue of disappearing cursor in MS Word.

Hi, have you checked your system settings -> Accessibility -> change the visibility of the cursor , there you can improve the visibility of the cursor , change the color and its width ,etc.
I'll add a screenshot with the mime cursor:image cursor
- Alexander1337Copper ContributorWell that doesn't solve the problem, my cursor still disappears when writing in Word/Wordpad/editor, while it doesnt when im writing in an app or in Libre office
