Moving Program Files From C: Drive To D: Drive???

You cannot simply drag and drop your C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86) folder to the D: drive. This will break every program inside it. Windows installs programs by spreading files across your system (registry, AppData, system folders) and creating shortcuts. Moving just the main folder severs all those connections.
Thank you for your reply. I'm aware of the complexities of moving files from C to D, and that it cannot be done with a simple cut and paste. I was asking for a method to accomplish this without losing all the vital connections. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
