microsoft, your w11 killed my trackball

this happened at work and somehow IT dept fixed it with HP assistant. i'm working with a dell now.

i recently redid the whole hard drive with w11. (not my idea...) a bunch of updates pushed themselves onto my machine without my machine earlier today. now my logitech usb antenna is unrecognized by the machine. it malfuncitons. it looks like some ridiculous security protocol kills it seconds after plugging in.

i used your copilot to determine it was likely some "servicing stack" which can't be uninstalled.

you killed my trackball.

tell me how to get it back.

and maybe stop screwing things up for me.

after messing around further, it's pretty clear that the update KB5066835 injected something that completely f^#$# this machine. it'll work for a moment, maybe, then stop. then it'll work, not work, work, not work... until finally just not working.

some stupid windows security something-or-other has decided to block logitech receivers. well done, microsoft.

how can i fix this? you SABOTAGED my computer. fix it. now.

to be clear, no matter which mouse i try to use, it won't work, thanks to them being logitech devices. i have to use this god awful touchpad. i don't know what i'd do if i had a desktop, the computer would be unusuable.

does anyone know how to help?

i used DellSupportAssist and somehow, ostensibly, the problem fixed.

And then it just showed up again.

CAN I NOT USE A SIMPLE POINTER DEVICE RELIABLY IN WINDOWS 11 ANYMORE?????

if i restart and unplug/plug-in the device, it works for a moment, then stops.
