microsoft, your w11 killed my trackball
this happened at work and somehow IT dept fixed it with HP assistant. i'm working with a dell now. i recently redid the whole hard drive with w11. (not my idea...) a bunch of updates pushed themsel...

after messing around further, it's pretty clear that the update KB5066835 injected something that completely f^#$# this machine. it'll work for a moment, maybe, then stop. then it'll work, not work, work, not work... until finally just not working.
some stupid windows security something-or-other has decided to block logitech receivers. well done, microsoft.
how can i fix this? you SABOTAGED my computer. fix it. now.

to be clear, no matter which mouse i try to use, it won't work, thanks to them being logitech devices. i have to use this god awful touchpad. i don't know what i'd do if i had a desktop, the computer would be unusuable.
