Microsoft blocks all options to bypass MS Account on new Installs
- Mar 09, 2025
You can bypass the ms account requirement via registry hack.
You may still be able to bypass the really intrusive garbage, forcing of a Microsoft online account to install windows on a computer by choosing the option to join a work or school domain instead of trying to do any other work around that has been previously suggested. I will also suggest that if you do not want to use the OneDrive software at all which I don’t like it and don’t use it installed on the computer I will suggest the following steps to avoid it.
first get everything installed for windows itself and don’t do the updates until dealing with the Microsoft office and OneDrive that is forced upon everybody when installing windows. I think it’s totally disgusting. Microsoft does that. You can say that you don’t want office you don’t want one driver as part of the installation process, but it will still put a OneDrive directory into your users directory and when it does that it will put all of the other library directories, such as documents, videos, pictures, music, etc., inside of the OneDrive directory. I never liked that. What you will need to do is after installing windows you will need to double back and go into the settings to uninstall OneDrive and before restarting the computer make sure you go into your user directory and locate the OneDrive folder and remove the OneDrive from there. I don’t remember if I also had to uninstall office that gets forced upon everybody when installing windows, but if it does put the OneDrive folder back on the computer in the users folder, then you will have to repeat the process to uninstall office and OneDrive and remove that folder. In order to keep the OneDrive out of your user directory, you should not sign into your Microsoft account or tell the system that you have a Microsoft account. You should only sign into your Microsoft account using your browser if you sign into your Microsoft account through installing Microsoft office and through installing the programs it could throw OneDrive back into the mix, but I don’t think it will. If you still want to use one drive but just don’t want it forcing itself on your system you can always sign into OneDrive using a browser and you’re all of your documents. You can just upload them there. They will not synchronize to your computer. They will only be in their cloud. That is how you can keep OneDrive separate from your system.

I hope the information helps. I know that all of the older tricks to install windows 11 without a Microsoft account have been blocked by Microsoft with great disgust by a lot of people.
