Messenger crashes as soon as launched
Hi JustAskDave ,
Try creating a new Windows profile to see if the issue persist.
Also, you will have to check event logs, Open Event viewer > Windows log > Application. Scroll to the event of the affected application, take a screenshot and attach it here.
I look forward to your response on Creating the new Windows profile and the event view logs.
Regards
Hi, thanks for the reply, is this what you are looking for?
I haven't created a new profile yet, this is my work computer and I haven't had time and dont want to screw it up!
EDIT: I have been googling the fault code and found many others with the same issue, one suggestion was to run Messenger in compatability mode, the 'No Internet' box does not come up but it still crashes within a few seconds. Others also suggested the new profile, this was also reported as a short term fix lasting a few days or weeks then the fault returned in that profile. Not sure what to do now.
I have tried the repair app, reset app, cleaning up temp folders, uninstalling and reinstalling, removing registry entries, Windows Repair, all updates are up to date. When I do a full clean install it works for a day or two at most then just crashes and will not run again.
