I had a problem where I renamed one of my PCs. When transferring a file from my Android, only the old PC name would appear, as disconnected, even though Link to Windows (LtW) said I was connected to the PC by the new name. However, I could not select the new PC name as the file transfer recipient. I was able to fix this situation by deleting the new PC name from LtW. Once that was done, both the old and new PC names disappeared from LtW. I then added the new PC name again and all was well. I didn't have to clear the cache or data.
