Line under app icon in taskbar after app is closed
Randomly when I close an application that I have pinned to my taskbar in Windows 11 there is a grey bar under the icon. The screen shot shows this happening with MS edge. I have noticed it in Ch...
It indicates that the application is still running or is in a suspended state.
Open Task Manager → Find Windows Explorer → Right-click → Restart. This refreshes taskbar.
Open Command Prompt as Admin and copy-paste the following command:
ie4uinit.exe -ClearIconCache
If required Disable Fast Startup.
Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power button does > Change settings that are currently unavailable > Uncheck "Turn on fast startup" > Reboot.
Make sure Windows is updated.
