Laptop (Win 11) powers on only plugged in
My laptop only powers on when it is connected to the AC adapter, but as soon as I unplug the charger, the system immediately shuts down, even though the battery icon sometimes shows a remaining charge. I have already tried recalibrating the battery, checking power settings, and updating the BIOS, but the issue persists, so I am wondering if this is a failing battery, a faulty charging circuit, or a software problem that can be resolved without replacing the hardware.

Locate the generated report (usually saved in your user folder) and review the battery health status, cycle count, and capacity.
Hi, this sounds more like a battery, charging circuit, or firmware issue than a Windows setting. Run the laptop manufacturer’s hardware diagnostics and check battery health. Updating BIOS/firmware may help, but if the system instantly dies when unplugged, the battery or power circuitry likely needs service.
