Laptop refuses to boot when a particular SD card is inserted
Because the laptop boots when that SD card is removed, the fault is likely in firmware or early startup: firmware may try the card as boot media, or the card or reader may hang during enumeration. Note whether the logo appears. Boot without the card, back up data before repairs, and test the card in a reader or PC. Scan it with Microsoft Defender. Enter UEFI through Settings > System > Recovery > Advanced startup > Troubleshoot > Advanced options, then place Windows Boot Manager or the internal drive first and disable removable-media boot if the manufacturer provides that option. Update the firmware and card-reader driver. After backup, run chkdsk X: without repair switches to inspect the card; use /f only if errors are reported and you accept that repairs can alter data. If this card blocks startup in readers, replace it. If every card does, the reader needs service.
