Kinect v2 disconnects on Windows 11
Hi, I have a problem with Kinect v2 on Windows 11. The device is detected and starts normally, but after about 10–15 seconds it disconnects every time. I tested it on two different PCs and the same thing happens on both. I’m using the original Kinect power adapter and I also have Kinect SDK 2.0 installed. On Windows 11 it uses the default Microsoft USB driver (AMD USB 3.10 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.20, version 10.0.26100.7920). I already tried disabling USB power saving and other basic fixes but nothing helped. It really looks like something changed in Windows 11 USB behavior and Kinect disconnects shortly after starting. Has anyone had a similar issue?

The Kinect v2 requires a USB 3.0 port (usually blue). However, it is also notoriously picky about the controller chipset behind that port . For the most reliable connection, plug it directly into a USB 3.0 port on the back of your desktop motherboard, not a front-panel or case port.

In Device Manager, uninstall all USB controllers, then restart your computer to allow the system to automatically reinstall the drivers, and disable USB selective suspend in the BIOS.
