Keyboard Matrix Registering a "Secret" Key Combination
My Windows PC keeps registering a strange key combination that I am not physically pressing, as if the keyboard matrix is detecting a phantom input from some hidden or secret key sequence. This happens randomly during typing and gaming, and I have already tried different keyboards and updated my drivers, but the issue persists.

Because different keyboards behave identically, suspect another input device, remapping software, or a background utility rather than the keyboard matrix. Disconnect controllers, macro pads, wireless receivers, docks, and Bluetooth input devices. Open the On-Screen Keyboard and watch whether a modifier appears pressed when the phantom combination occurs.
Under Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard, temporarily disable Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, and Toggle Keys. Disable keyboard managers, gaming overlays, clipboard tools, OEM hotkey services, and automation utilities. Perform a clean boot; if the issue stops, re-enable services and startup apps in groups until it returns.
In Device Manager, uninstall only the keyboard and Human Interface Device entries for the affected hardware, then restart. Test Safe Mode and the sign-in screen too. If the combination occurs before sign-in with every external device removed, user-session software is unlikely.
