KB5070773 fixes a WinRE bug introduced by October’s cumulative update.

It's my understanding that 2025-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5066835) (26100.6899) breaks the WinRE.

My Windows Update does not show this fix installed.   I cannot find it.   The only think waiting to be installed is the Windows 11, version 25H2.   Does that update fix KB5066835?

  • Upgrading to Windows 11 25H2 (the newer feature update) generally includes many fixes and cumulative updates released after the initial 24H2 version. It’s very likely that KB5070773's fixes are integrated into the newer builds of 25H2, especially since cumulative updates tend to be included in feature updates.
