Is the way mobile notifications are displayed in the new Windows 11 Start menu a bit of a letdown?

In the new Start menu, phone notifications only display “1 new notification” instead of showing the actual text of the notification. Even though there is clearly enough space to display the full message, it only shows the name of the app that sent it, which isn’t very helpful. Users still need to open the “Phone Link” app to see the specific content of the notification. Since a dedicated phone status panel has already been designed, why add this extra step? Hopefully, Microsoft will provide an option in the future that allows users to customize how notifications are displayed.
