The Office product key can be stored in several different places depending on how you purchased and activated Microsoft Office.
If Office came pre-installed on your computer (OEM version), the product key may be embedded in the computer's BIOS or UEFI firmware. This allows for automatic activation when you reinstall Office. You can retrieve this key using the Command Prompt or PowerShell with specific commands.
For volume license versions of Office or older Office versions (e.g., Office 2010), the product key may be stored in the Windows Registry. However, it is often encrypted or obfuscated. Tools like Office Product Key Finder can decrypt and display the product key from the registry.
