In Windows 11, app icons bounce when dragged to reorder them on the taskbar

When dragging a pinned app icon on the taskbar to reorder it, the icon bounces and cannot be dragged and dropped smoothly into the target position. This issue persists even after restarting File Explorer, affecting the taskbar customization experience.

    If performance issues persist, consider resetting Windows or performing a clean installation to start fresh.

    Hi, I’d first restart Windows Explorer from Task Manager and check for pending Windows updates. If you use StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher, or another shell customization tool, disable it temporarily because those can affect taskbar drag behavior. If it happens on a clean profile too, report it through Feedback Hub.
