I purchased a windows activation licence yesterday and it's failed to activate

I purchased an activation licence yesterday and it failed to activate , my dashboard shows the purchase with order number etc.

It was for a windows 11 home onto a new ssd drive which was larger.

Answers very much appreciated,  thanks.

    Your purchase appears in order history, but the Windows installation on the replacement SSD still needs to match the license and complete activation. The order number itself is not an activation key, and a Home license will not activate Pro.

     

    Open Settings > System > Activation and note the installed edition, activation status, and complete error code. Confirm it says Windows 11 Home and that the PC is online. If your purchase supplied a 25-character product key, enter it using Change product key. If it supplied a digital license, sign in with the Microsoft account associated with that purchase and run the Activation troubleshooter as an administrator.

     

    If activation still fails, contact Microsoft Support with the error code and purchase confirmation privately. Those details will distinguish an edition mismatch from a license or activation problem. Avoid buying another license until the existing purchase has been checked.
