I need a FB video downloader that support HD videos, any suggestion?
New to here and need some help now.
I often find interesting videos on Facebook that I want to save for offline viewing, and it's important that the videos retain their high resolution. So I'm looking for a reliable and free safe facebook videos downloader for Windows that allows me to download videos from facebook in HD quality.
I've tried a couple of video downloader tools online, but they don't support HD downloads or have limitations on video quality. If you have experience in this filed, please don't hesitate to share you experience. I would really appreciate for the help.
Best Regards.

It is really hard to find a good facebook video downloader now as many of them stop working. It took me 5 hours for testing different apps/websites and finally go with the AllClipDown app. I have downloaded 100+ facebook videos to my Windows laptop without any issue.

Once I wanted to find a way to download Facebook videos without opening a web page or installing fancy software, and I found that the command line can also do it. It's so cool!
The method is very simple. I use the command line tool yt--dIlp, which can be used directly in Windows (Linux also supports it). After installation, open CMD or PowerShell, and enter:
yt--dIlp -f best "video link"
After pressing Enter, the video starts downloading, and it is in high definition. It is better than any Facebook video downloader!
If you want to download it directly as an MP4 file, you can also add parameters, such as:
yt--dIlp -f best -o "video.mp4" "video link"
The advantage of this method is that it is super clean, does not require a web page, is not afraid of ads, and has no speed limit. It is much more stable than those online facebook video downloader tools. If you often download Facebook videos, the command line is definitely an efficient and professional solution! - DebramSancheIron Contributor
Sometimes you want to find a simple way to download facebook videos, but you don't want to install software or use online tools. In fact, you can do it by simply changing the URL. It is equivalent to a hidden version of the Facebook video downloader method!
The method is very simple. For example, if you see a video on Facebook, copy the link, change "www" to "mbasic", and press Enter. The page will become a simplified version of Facebook. At this time, click the video to play, then right-click → Save As, and you can download it locally!
Although the video downloaded by this method may have limited clarity, it is enough for general use, and it does not require any tools and is completely free! If you often need a quick facebook video downloader, this method is definitely worth a try!

Using a Facebook video downloader on a Windows PC can definitely get you high-quality videos, and I’ve had some pretty solid experiences with it! Let me break it down for you in my usual casual style. When you’re using Facebook video downloader, the quality often depends on a few factors:
- Downloader Features: Different downloaders have different capabilities. Some will let you choose the resolution and format, while others might just snag the default one without options.
My Go-To Experience
I’ve used various downloaders like 4K Video Downloader, for instance, I’ve been able to grab some really crisp videos. Here’s what went down:
4K Video Downloader: This thing is a beast! I just copy the video link from Facebook, and it pulls up all the quality options available, including HD! I downloaded a killer concert clip, and the sound and picture were spot on. It felt like I was right there, rocking out.
A Few Tips to Max Out Quality
- Choose the Best Option: Always look for high-definition options if they’re available, especially if you see "720p" or "1080p" listed!
- Check Your Internet Connection: Sometimes, if your internet is lagging, it could affect the download quality, so ensure you’ve got a decent connection.
- Keep an Eye on Ads: If you're using a free online downloader, prepare yourself for some ads—they're kind of part of the package, but mostly avoidable if you stay focused.

Once I saw a high-definition documentary clip on Facebook and wanted to download it for my collection. But I looked for several online facebook video downloader tools at the time, but the video was either blurry or the download speed was limited, which was really annoying. Later, I researched and found that I could actually download Facebook videos using the browser developer tools, and they were original high-definition files, without installing any software at all!
The method is actually very simple. I did it in Chrome:
- Open the Facebook video, then press F12 (or Ctrl + Shift + I), and the developer tool interface will pop up.
- Switch to the "Network" option, then click "Media", the page will be blank at this time, but don't worry.
Play the video, and you will see an MP4 link appear! - Right-click to copy the link, paste it into a new tab, and open it directly. Then right-click > Save As, and you can download the high-definition MP4.
The whole process takes no more than 1 minute. The key is that the quality of the downloaded Facebook video is original, without compression, which is much better than most download tools! I have been using this method since then and it has basically helped me with most Facebook videos. I recommend you give it a try.

If you prefer not to use an facebook video downloader app, browser extension, or an online FB downloader, you can still download Facebook videos as HD video directly using your Chrome browser by following these steps:
Step 1: Open Facebook in your Chrome browser and navigate to the video you want to download.
Step 2: Right-click on the video and select “Copy video URL” from the menu. Alternatively, click on the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the video post and select “Copy link.”
Step 3: Open a new tab in your Chrome browser. Paste the copied video URL into the address bar and press Enter. Now, in the URL, replace www with m. This will change the URL to the mobile version of Facebook.
Step 4: After the page loads with the mobile version, play the video. Right-click on the video and select "Save video as..." from the menu.
Step 5: Choose a folder on your computer where you want to save the video, and click Save. The video will begin downloading, and you can access it from your chosen folder once the download is complete.
Why This Works:
The mobile version of Facebook allows you to download facebook videos in HD quality directly, which is why switching to the mobile site in the desktop browser enables this functionality. You can then easily save the video by right-clicking and choosing "Save video as..." to store it on your computer.
This method doesn't require third-party apps, extensions, or online services—it's all done using just Chrome and Facebook.

If you want to find a Facebook video downloader on Windows to download HD quality videos, but don't want to install third-party tools, you can actually do it with some tips. I have tried several methods myself and can completely achieve HD downloads. Here are three methods that I have personally tested and found to be effective!
1. Modify the Facebook video URL directly
This is the simplest Facebook video downloader method, and no additional software installation is required:- Open the video you want to download in the browser, right-click the video, and select "Copy video address".
- Open a new tab, paste the URL, and change "www" to "mbasic" (such as https://www.mbasic.facebook.com/...).
- After pressing Enter, the webpage will change to Facebook's simple mode, and click on the video to play.
- Right-click the video and select "Save as" to download MP4. The clarity depends on the quality of the original video uploaded.
Pros: Simple, fast, and one of the easiest Facebook video downloader methods.
Cons: Sometimes it is impossible to download the highest quality video.2. Through web developer tools
If you want true HD quality, you can use your browser's developer tools to make a manual Facebook video downloader.- Open a Facebook video and press F12 (or Ctrl + Shift + I) to open the developer tools.
- Select the "Network" tab and click the "Media" option.
- Play the video and you will see an MP4 link appear in the list.
- Right-click to copy the MP4 link and paste it into a new tab to open it.
- Right-click the video > Save As to download the HD version!
Pros: You can get the highest quality of Facebook video downloader downloads.
Cons: It requires a little technical skills, but it is actually very simple once you get familiar with it.3. Use Facebook's "Save" function + cache extraction
If you don't want to use other software, this method allows you to indirectly use Facebook's own functions to make a "hidden version" of Facebook video downloader.- Click the "three dots" below the Facebook video > "Save Video" so that it will be saved in your "Saved" list.
- Open the browser cache directory (such as Chrome's cache storage location).
- Find the most recent video file (usually .mp4), copy it and rename it to play!
Advantages: No external software is required, free and safe.
Disadvantages: You need to manually find the cache file, which is a little troublesome.
If you want to use Facebook video downloader to download HD quality videos without using third-party software, you can try:Method 1: Modify the URL, simple and fast, suitable for ordinary users.
Method 2: Developer Tools, can download real HD MP4.
Method 3: Facebook "Save" + Cache Extraction, is a hidden version of Facebook video downloader method.
All three methods are feasible, you can try which one best suits your needs! 😃 - FinebnsIron Contributor
About the best FB video downloader. I've played around with a few, if you’re looking for a web-based option that doesn’t require any downloads, as l know, FBbown is a solid go-to. I tried it out once when I was on a different computer, and I found it super handy.
- Super Simple: Just copy the video link from Facebook, paste it into their site, and boom—you’re prompted to download!
- No Sign-Up: You don’t need to create an account or anything, which is great if you just need something quick.
- Quality Choices: You can pick from standard and high quality, which is nice if you want to make sure your video looks good.
The only thing to watch out for is that they do have some ads, but nothing too crazy that would ruin the experience.I tried Getfuid once when FBbown was a bit finicky, and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s pretty user-friendly, too!
- Quick and Efficient: Similar deal—paste your Facebook video link, and it’ll grab the video in no time.
- Option to Convert: One feature I liked was the option to convert videos to MP4 or MP3, just in case you wanna snag the audio only. You know, for that killer playlist!
- Once in a while, you might hit a page with ads, but they usually don’t get in the way too much.
These FaceBook video downloader are great for snagging Facebook videos without downloading heavy software. FBbown.net is always my first stop because of how straightforward it is, but Getfuid.com is just as reliable.

Here are two easy ways to download Facebook videos without installing software.
Method 1. Using Online Facebook Video Downloaders
There are websites that allow you to download Facebook videos directly by pasting the video URL. Here's how you can do it:
- Open Facebook and navigate to the video you want to download. Right-click on the video and select "Copy video URL" or click on the three-dot menu on the post and select "Copy link."
- Go to a reliable Facebook video downloader website.
Once on the website, you’ll see a field to paste the URL. Paste the link you copied from Facebook into this field. - After pasting the link, click the "Download" button or the option to analyze the video. The website will analyze the video and provide you with different video quality options, such as Standard or HD. Select the HD quality (if available) for the best video resolution.
- Once the download option appears, click the “Download” button next to the quality you chose. The video will start downloading, and you can save it to your computer.
Method 2. Using a Browser Extension
- Click the "Add to Firefox" or "Add to Chrome" button to install the extension. Follow the prompts to complete the installation process.
- Once the extension is installed, go to Facebook and find the video you want to download.
When you play the video, you’ll see the extension icon (usually located in the top right of your browser). - The icon will become active (usually showing a colored indicator) to let you know the video can be downloaded.
- Click on the extension icon, and a menu will pop up with download options.
- Choose the video resolution you want (HD is often available if the video was uploaded in HD).
- Click the download button to save the video to your device.
Both methods are straightforward to download facebook videos and avoid the need for software installations. This is ideal to quickly save Facebook videos in HD quality.

If you're planning to use a Facebook video downloader on your Windows computer, there are definitely some common pitfalls to watch out for. I've made the mistake of downloading a "free" app that seemed legit, only to have my computer start acting funky afterwards. Always download from reputable sources. Check reviews and ratings before you grab any software. There are tons of Facebook video downloaders out there, but not all of them play nice. Some can be buggy or stop working altogether because they don't keep up with Facebook’s updates. I’ve tried a few that crashed mid-download or spat out corrupted files.
Tip: Use Windows Defender or another antivirus program to scan any downloads you make. It’s built into Windows, and it works pretty well. Just head to Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection and make sure everything’s good.
