Finally, settled with a third party computer app called Android Messages Transfer that works on both Windows and Mac. It can print text with all the vital information like date and time stamps, sender name, phone number and so on which is pretty helpful if you deed your text messages for some legal issue like a court case. You can also save your messages as PDF. Even my lawyer approved it. So yeah, that is what worked for me.
