How to Mirror Pixel Phone to PC on Windows 11/10?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to mirror my Pixel phone to my PC but I'm not entirely sure how to do it. I've heard there are a few methods, like using USB cables, wireless options, or third-party apps, but I’m not sure which one is the most reliable or easiest to set up.

Could someone please provide a step-by-step guide on how to mirror Pixel to PC? Here are a few details that might help:

  •     Phone model: Google Pixel 9 Pro.
  •     Phone OS: Android 14
  •     PC: Windows 11 DIY PC

Hope someone could share the experience if you know how to mirror Pixel phone to Windows 11/10 PC?

Cheers,
Baynes

I am using Google Pixel 8A and it took me days to find a working solution for mirroring Pixel phone to Windows PC. Fortunately, I was able to find a great guide to do this:

Typically, there are two ways to mirror Pixel phone to PC. One is via USB cable and the other is via WiFi.

USB mirroring offers a stable and reliable connection with minimal latency, making it ideal for tasks that require precision, such as gaming or app testing. Additionally, USB connections don't rely on network stability, so they work well even in environments with poor WiFi. However, the downside is that you're physically tethered to your PC, which limits mobility, and you’ll need to enable USB debugging, which might feel technical for some users.

On the other hand, WiFi mirroring provides the convenience of a wireless connection, allowing you to move freely while projecting your screen. However, WiFi mirroring can suffer from latency and occasional lag, especially if your network is congested or slow. It also requires both devices to be on the same WiFi network, which might not always be feasible.

I suggest giving a try on Scrcpy ((pronounced "screen copy"),  a free, open-source tool developed by Genymobile that allows you to mirror and control your Android device (like your Pixel phone) from your PC via a USB connection or wirelessly. It's lightweight, fast, and doesn’t require root access, making it a popular choice for developers and everyday users alike. Scrcpy is especially useful for tasks like screen recording, app testing, or simply using your phone on a larger screen.)

    1. To mirror Pixel phone to Windows PC, first enable USB Debugging on Pixel Android phone. Go to About phone and tap on Build number 7 times to enable Developer options.  Go back to Settings > System > Developer options.  Enable USB debugging.

    2. Connect your Pixel phone to your PC using a USB cable.  On your Android phone, when prompted, select File transfer or Android Auto mode (this ensures the connection is recognized).

    3. Open the folder where you extracted Scrcpy.  Run the scrcpy.exe file (for Windows) or the appropriate executable for your OS. Your Pixel phone’s screen will appear on your PC.

    4. Use Scrcpy to control the Google Pixel.

This is a simple trick to let you mirror Pixel phone to Windows PC for free!

In addition, the above trick works on Google Pixel 9/8/7/6 and Google Pixel 9/8/7/6 Pro.

If you want to mirror Pixel phone to PC for some good ol' screen sharing or just to use your phone apps on a bigger screen, there are a few ways to do it. Here’s how I usually go about it:

    1. Use Scrcpy (My Go-To Tool)

Honestly, Scrcpy is the bomb if you want to mirror Pixel phone to PC without any hitches. It's free and open-source, plus it doesn’t require any special setup other than ADB (Android Debug Bridge) to be enabled.

Download Scrcpy: Head to GitHub to get the latest version. Just grab the zip file for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
Set up ADB: Make sure you have ADB installed. If you're not sure how, you can download the platform-tools from the Android Developers site. Just unzip it and keep it handy.

    2. Use Windows Your Phone App

If you’re using Windows 10 or 11, the Your Phone App is pretty neat. It allows you to access your notifications, messages, and photos right on your PC.

Install Your Phone Companion: Download the Your Phone Companion app on your Pixel from the Google Play Store.
Set Up Your PC: Open the Your Phone app on your Windows PC and follow the setup prompts. You'll need to log in with the same Microsoft account.
Link Your Devices: Follow the on-screen instructions so your phone gets connected to your PC. Then mirror Pixel phone to PC.

It does a lot more than just mirroring; you can reply to texts, access photos, and even make calls, which is pretty handy.

Mirroring your Pixel phone to your PC can be incredibly useful for presentations, gaming, or simply managing your phone’s content on a larger screen. One of the easiest ways to achieve this wirelessly is by using Google Home and Google Chrome. This method leverages the built-in casting feature of Android devices and the Chrome browser to seamlessly display your Pixel screen on your PC. The best part? No cables or third-party apps are required—just a stable Wi-Fi connection and a few simple steps.

    Prerequisites:

    • Ensure your Pixel phone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Install the Google Home app on your Pixel phone (if not already installed).
    • Install Google Chrome on your PC (if not already installed).

How mirror Pixel phone to PC with Chrome Cast

Step 1: Set Up Google Home on Your Pixel Phone.

Open the Google Home app on your Pixel phone. Tap on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the app.Select Cast screen/audio from the menu.Your phone will start searching for available devices to cast to.

Step 2: Set Up Chrome on Your PC

Open Google Chrome on your PC.  In the address bar, type chrome://cast and press Enter. Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) in the top-right corner of the Cast window.Select Cast desktop or Cast tab, depending on your preference.

Step 3: Connect Your Pixel Phone to Your PC

On your Pixel phone, under Cast screen/audio, you should see your PC listed as an available device. Tap on your PC’s name to start casting.Your Pixel phone screen will now be mirrored to your PC.

    Step 4: Adjust Settings (Optional)

You can enable Touch feedback to show taps on the screen for demonstrations.  You can also enable Audio casting to stream audio from your phone to your PC.

Step 5: Stop Casting Pixel to PC. To stop mirroring, simply tap Stop casting in the Google Home app on your Pixel phone or close the Cast window in Chrome on your PC.

That's it! You’re now ready to mirror Pixel phone to Windows PC wirelessly using Google Home and Chrome. Let me know if you have any questions or run into issues!

  • Depending on the device you're using, you may need specific software. For example, if you're using Windows 10 or 11, you can use the built-in Connect app to project your screen. If you're using a program like Scrcpy (great for Android mirroring), make sure it's installed correctly and that the correct drivers are installed. I once overlooked this and spent ages figuring out why my screen wouldn't show up!

Sometimes, to mirror Pixel to PC, if you're connected via USB, you'll need to enable USB debugging in the Developer Options on your Pixel. If you don't have this set up, your PC won't recognize your phone. Go to Settings > About phone > Tap Build number seven times to unlock Developer options, then go back to find USB debugging.

Now, if you’re running Windows 10 or 11, here’s a quick way to mirror Pixel to PC using the Microsoft Connect app:

    1. Open the Connect app on your Windows PC. You can search for it in the Start Menu.
    2. On your Pixel, swipe down to access Quick Settings and look for "Cast" or "Screen Mirroring."
    3. Tap on it and select your PC from the list of available devices.
    4. If prompted, approve the connection on your PC.
