When it comes to disable automatically windows 11 update. If you want to stop frequent major version upgrades (like from Windows 11 version 22H2 to 23H2) but still receive critical security patches, you can pin your PC to your current Windows version. This is a safer and more supported method that allows you to delay big feature updates for up to a year while still getting monthly security fixes . This method also uses a registry edit but targets a different key.
If you change your mind, you can easily revert this. Simply go back to the FlightSettingsMaxPauseDays value in the Registry Editor, set it back to 28 (or delete it), and then click "Resume updates" in the Windows Update settings to start receiving updates again .
