How to Disable Hyper-V in Windows 11 Home?
Hi all,
I've been struggling to completely disable Hyper-V on my Windows 11 Home PC. The reason I want to do this is to run the MuMu emulator specifically in Legacy VT-x mode, but it always ends up running in a Hyper-V environment. Even the Google Play Store Beta runs without showing 'Hyper-V is disabled', so something is still activating the Hyper-V stack in the background.
Here's what I have already tried:
- Disabled all services named "HV Host Service" and "Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management" (plus any other "Hyper-V" related services in services.msc).
- Turned off every feature related to Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, Windows Hypervisor Platform, Sandbox, etc. in "Turn Windows features on or off" (though 'Hyper-V' doesn't even appear in Home edition).
- Disabled Core Isolation > Memory Integrity in Windows Security settings.
- Ran bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off as administrator and restarted.
- Searched for and disabled any virtualization or VM-related settings I could find.
Despite all these steps, the emulator still thinks Hyper-V is active, and Event Viewer sometimes shows "Hypervisor-Hypervisor" events. I need Hyper-V completely disabled for Legacy VT-x to work!
If anyone has genuinely managed to fully disable Hyper-V in Windows 11 Home (so that software like MuMu or Play Store Beta detect it as disabled), please tell me what finally worked. Any help or hidden tips would be much appreciated!
