How to cast my Android phone to PC in Windows 11?
Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well!
I’m looking for some help with casting my Android phone to my Windows 11 PC. I often use my phone for browsing and viewing videos, but I would love to mirror my screen or cast content directly to my computer for a better viewing experience. I've done some research but found the options overwhelming, and I want to make sure I’m using a reliable method.
I’m open to both wired and wireless solutions to cast Android phone to PC, but I would prefer a straightforward approach that doesn’t involve too much technical jargon.
Best,
Maine

The Hylarana Library is not a commonly known tool for cast Android to Windows PC. It is primarily a scientific library for biological data analysis, and it does not provide functionality for screen mirroring or casting Android devices.
If you are going to cast Android to Windows PC, I recommend using dedicated applications designed for this purpose, what You'd Need to Build:
- Rust crate for desktop implementations
- Kotlin implementation for Android
- Example projects for Rust, C++, and Android
To actually cast Android to Windows PC, you would need to:
- Build the receiver component for your Windows PC (using the Rust SDK)
- Build the sender component for your Android phone (using the Kotlin SDK)
- Connect them over your local network
The project prioritizes Windows and Android support , which makes it theoretically perfect for your goal to cast Android to Windows PC. It aims for low latency (80-250ms typically, with SRT achieving 20-40ms) and maintains a relatively easy-to-use API.

Hey Maine,
Two methods have worked well for me when I wanted to cast Android to Windows 11 PC without making it complicated.
Method 1: Wireless mirroring over Wi-Fi
This is the easiest way to cast Android to Windows 11 PC if you just want a bigger screen for videos, browsing, or apps.
Steps:
- Make sure your Android phone and Windows 11 PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Install a screen mirroring app on your PC.
- Open the app on both devices.
- Let the phone search for your computer, then tap your PC name.
- Accept the connection on the PC if prompted.
- Your phone screen should start showing on the computer.
This method is simple and cable-free, but it can lag a little if your Wi-Fi isn’t great.
Method 2: USB cable for a more stable connection
If you want a smoother experience, this is usually the better way to cast Android to Windows 11 PC.
Steps:
- Connect your Android phone to the PC with a USB cable.
- On your phone, enable Developer Options if you haven’t already.
- Turn on USB debugging in Developer Options.
- Open your mirroring app on the PC.
- Allow the USB debugging permission on your phone when the pop-up appears.
- Once connected, your phone screen will appear on the PC.
USB usually feels more stable than Wi-Fi, especially for longer sessions or watching videos.
For most people, I’d try wireless first because it’s easier, then switch to USB if you want better performance.

Please note the built-in Cast feature in Windows 11, while convenient and free, has several limitations that can hinder its usability. One of the main drawbacks is its dependency on Miracast compatibility. Both the Android phone and the PC must support Miracast for the feature to work, which excludes older devices or certain models that lack this technology. Additionally, Miracast is not as universally supported as newer casting standards like Google Cast, which limits the feature's adaptability across a broader range of devices.
Another significant downside it comes with is that has limited functionality compared to third-party solutions. While it allows basic screen mirroring, it lacks advanced features like file sharing, screen recording, or extended display modes, which are often available in third-party apps for casting Android to Windows PC. What is more, the process of enabling the Cast feature and setting it up can be unintuitive for less tech-savvy users, requiring multiple steps and settings adjustments.

As fas as I know, you can use the built-in cast function to cast Android phone to a Windows PC.
Step 1: Go to Settings > System > Projecting to this PC. Configure the settings to allow your PC to receive cast requests. Choose preferences like "Available everywhere on secure networks."
Step 2: Open Settings > Connected devices or Display. Look for Cast, Smart View, or Wireless Display (names vary by manufacturer). Tap to enable it and select your PC from the list of available devices.
Step 3: On your PC, a prompt will appear asking for confirmation to connect. Approve the connection, and your Android screen will appear on your PC.
This is a very simple to mirror or cast Android phone to PC without installing any device mirroring software.
