To boot Windows 11 from Rufus USB, you need to configure the computer's BIOS/UEFI settings to prioritize USB booting.
- Plug the newly created Windows 11 bootable USB drive into the target computer.
- Click "Start", select "Power", and then "Restart".
- As the computer restarts, press the designated key to enter BIOS/UEFI. Common keys include F2, F12, DEL, ESC, or F10. The specific key varies by manufacturer and is often displayed briefly during startup.
- Once in BIOS/UEFI, use the arrow keys or mouse (if supported) to navigate to the "Boot" tab or "Boot Order" settings.
- Locate the "Boot Priority" or "Boot Order" list. Move the USB drive to the top of the list to prioritize it over other boot devices like the internal hard drive. This will allow the computer booting Windows 11 using Rufus USB.
- Save the changes by selecting "Save and Exit" or pressing the designated key (often F10). Confirm any prompts to save changes.
Note: Some modern systems support "Boot Menu" access via a specific key (e.g., F12) during startup, allowing you to select the boot device without changing BIOS settings permanently.
