How does the fan get louder when I close apps?
I've noticed that my laptop's fan actually gets louder when I close apps, which seems completely backwards to me. Has anyone else run into this, and could it be caused by background processes, power ...
I would try to find out what the cause is. Go to task Manager and select "Processes". Click the CPU button to sort them. Watch what jumps to the top immediately when you close the applications. If the CPU usage still is low when closing applications I would investigate the laptop's temperature and/or power settings rather than windows settings.
