How do you prevent a service from starting when you can't change the startup type?

I notice this service doesn't give me the usual choice to change the startup type.

I have administrator rights and can change other services' startup type.

  • Found it - go to registry, hkey local, services, select the service - add a dword key if not present - Start (value 3) add a dword DelayedAutoStart (value) 0
