How do I transfer my Office 2021 license to a new device?
I'm planning to set up a new device and need to transfer my Office 2021 license from my current computer. Can someone guide me through the process of deactivating Office on the old device and activating it on the new one without losing my license or data?

In the activation screen, look for a link that says "I want to activate by telephone" or similar.
Call the toll-free number provided.
An automated system will guide you. You will need to provide the Installation ID displayed on your screen.
The system will then give you a long Confirmation ID to type back into the activation window.
This process manually overrides the activation limit and validates your license on the new hardware.

You can use your registered Microsoft account to transfer your Office from current device to new device.

To transfer your Office 2021 license to a new device:
- Deactivate on the old device – Open an Office app → go to File > Account → sign out, then uninstall Office.
- Install on the new device – Sign in at account.microsoft.com/services
with the same Microsoft account → download and install Office. - Activate – Open Word/Excel on the new device, sign in with your Microsoft account, and your license will activate.
If you reach an activation limit, remove the old device under your Microsoft account.
Good news: You won’t lose any data, your Office documents are separate from the license. Just back up your files (OneDrive, external drive, etc.) before wiping the old device.
