How do I find my windows 11 product key?
I recently needed to find my Windows 11 product key because I wanted to reinstall the system, but I didn't know where to find Windows 11 product key. I've seen some tutorials before, but the operation was a bit complicated and I didn't know the specific steps. Does anyone have any simple methods or tools that can help me quickly find the Windows 11 product key? If anyone has encountered a similar problem, please share your experience, thank you!
I have encountered a similar situation before. I wanted to reinstall Windows 11, but I couldn't find the product key.
I tried several complicated tutorials, and finally found Product Key Finder to be the simplest tool. It can find the key in one step and the operation is also very smooth.
If you don't want to go through complicated steps, I recommend this tool, it is quite useful.

- MscarerCopper ContributorLet's be real—entering the BIOS can feel like stepping into a tech cave, especially if you're not super familiar with it. There are tons of options and settings, and you might worry about accidentally changing something you shouldn't. For someone who's not tech-savvy, this can be a bit intimidating.
Even if you do find the windows 11 product key, there's no guarantee it'll work. Some Windows installations are tied to the hardware or the Microsoft account you used to set it up, and the key might not be the usual type you expect. You might walk out of that BIOS session thinking you're all set, only to run into activation issues later on. - ValentinaMorenoCopper Contributor
This method is actually quite simple. Just use PowerShell to check Windows 11 product key. I have tried it several times and it can be found. However, sometimes it may not be displayed, especially if your system is activated with a digital license (the kind that is bound to a Microsoft account), it will not show you the actual key.
Steps:
- Press Windows + X, then select Windows PowerShell.
- Enter this command:
(Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey
Press Enter, and then if the product key is stored in the system, it will be displayed.
Disadvantages:
If your Windows is digitally activated, this method may not work and the key cannot be found, you meybe need a Windows 11 product key finder.
Sometimes administrator privileges are required, and you have to manually open PowerShell as an administrator. - GenevieveloverCopper Contributor
Make sure you back up your Windows 11 product key before reinstalling your system, as it's difficult to retrieve it once you've lost it.If you're using a digital license, you won't have a physical product key. Instead, you can activate Windows 11 by signing in with your Microsoft account.
About how to find Windows 11 product key? You can check your System Properties:- Press the Windows Key + Pause/Break to open System Properties.
- Click on the General tab and look for the "Windows activation" section.
- Your Windows 11 product key should be displayed next to "Product ID".

In fact, finding Windows 11 product key from the BIOS is also a good method, but it depends on your computer model. Some systems will display the key directly in the BIOS, but not all support it. I have tried it several times myself, it is quite simple, but sometimes I can't find it after searching for a long time.
The steps are roughly as follows:
- Restart the computer: Press F2 or Delete key at the beginning (the specific key depends on your computer model, some are F10 or Esc).
- Enter the BIOS interface: At this time you will see the BIOS interface.
- View product information: Usually the product key will be on a page about system or security, and you may need to flip through different options.
- Exit BIOS: After finding the key, write it down, and then exit BIOS (usually press F10 to save and exit).
However, it is not always possible to see it, and some computers do not display the key at all. So, if you can't find it, don't be too disappointed, try another method.

Thank you for your reply! I actually tried to find Windows 11 product key through BIOS. I followed the steps you mentioned, but I still couldn't find the key. Maybe my computer doesn't support it, or the model is not good. Anyway, I was a little disappointed. It reported an error but didn't give any hint. So I had to try other methods.
