How do I completely uninstall Microsoft Office 365 from my Windows 11 PC?

I have Microsoft Office 365 installed on my Windows 11 PC, but I no longer need it and want to remove it thoroughly, including any leftover files, settings, services, and components. I would like to know the safest way to completely uninstall Microsoft Office 365 from PC without accidentally affecting my personal documents or other applications.

The standard uninstall process may leave some components behind, so I want to make sure everything related to Office is removed properly. What steps can I follow to completely delete Microsoft Office from my PC whi

  • You want Microsoft 365 removed without losing documents or affecting applications. Microsoft confirms that uninstalling the suite removes applications, not the Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files you created. First save work and back up Outlook PST files, custom templates, macros, and signatures you need. In an Office app, open File > Account and identify whether the installation is Click-to-Run or Microsoft Store. Try uninstalling from Settings > Apps > Installed apps, selecting the Microsoft 365 suite rather than individual bundled apps. If components remain or uninstall fails, run Microsoft’s Microsoft 365 uninstall troubleshooter through Get Help, follow its prompts, and restart. Use the documented Microsoft Store removal steps only if that is the detected installation type. After reboot, confirm the suite no longer appears in Installed apps. Avoid registry cleaners and manual deletion of Office folders because those can damage shared components. Keep your license credentials for any later reinstall.
