How come I am unable to remove these blank icons?

I recently updated the Edge browser even though I typically use Chrome. I noticed that my computer is accumulating small KB files or empty files. When I try to delete them, I receive a notification saying that something is still open in Edge. Any advice on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
