To upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 on AMD processor, you've identified the core problem accurately about. Your AMD Athlon 200 GE (released 2018) is NOT on Microsoft's official supported CPU list for Windows 11. This is why you don't see the upgrade option. Here's the reality and your options:
The Hard Truth About Your Hardware
Your AMD Athlon 200 GE:
- Architecture: Zen (first generation)
- TPM: No integrated fTPM 2.0 (only TPM 1.2)
- Official status: Unsupported by Microsoft
- Why: Microsoft only supports Zen+ (2000 series) and newer for Ryzen, and your Athlon is Zen-based
Recommed: Stay on Windows 10, not upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 on AMD processor.
- Until October 14, 2025, Windows 10 still receives security updates. That's 21 months from now.
- Pros: Stable, compatible, secure until 2025
- Cons: Eventual forced upgrade/replacement
If you choose this path:
Maximize Windows 10 performance (clean install)
Plan to upgrade hardware by 2025
