Windows 11 26H1 is not officially released to the general public. If you’ve seen users with 26H1 already installed, they are likely running pre-release or insider build versions, which are available through the Windows Insider Program.
How to Upgrade to Windows 11 26H1?
1. Join the Windows Insider Program
If you want early access to upcoming features (like 26H1), you need to enroll in the Windows Insider Program:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program.
- Click Get started and link your Microsoft account.
- Choose your Insider channel: Dev Channel (most bleeding edge), Beta Channel (more stable, upcoming features), or Release Preview.
- Follow the prompts and restart your PC.
2. Check for updates
- Once enrolled, go to Settings > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates.
- If the 26H1 build is available for your Insider channel, it will appear here.
3. Manual installation
When Windows 11 26H1 is officially released to the public, it will be pushed via Windows Update.
If you want to upgrade manually:
- Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from Microsoft's official website.
- Or, create a bootable USB with the Media Creation Tool and perform an in-place upgrade.
4. Ensure your PC is compatible
- Make sure your PC meets the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11.
- Backup your data before upgrading.
