There are some simple performance based settings you can configure to make your system running faster.
You can run sysdm.cpl command then go to Advanced &gt; Performance &gt; Settings and uncheck these options:

Animate controls and elements inside windows
Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing
Animations in the taskbar
Fade or slide menus into view
Fade or slide ToolTips into view
Fade out menu items after clicking&nbsp;
Show shadows under windows
Show translucent selection rectangle
Slide open combo boxes
Smooth-scroll list boxes
Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop

Click Apply, OK.
