Here! Good news for Windows 11 users
I'm excited for them to shift the start menu from React Native to WinUI3, that'll enhance performance by default, let alone the additional WinUI3 performance enhancements they have planned.
It concerns me that it took them 5 years to make this decision. But I know some of the people who will be in charge of these changes and I look forward to finally updating my gaming PC when they roll them out.

The Start menu in Windows is built using the Windows API and is a native Windows component. The future of the Start menu in Windows lies in the evolution of the Windows UI, which is being developed using the Windows UI Library (WinUI), not WinUI3. WinUI is a set of libraries for building Windows desktop applications, and it's a part of the Windows API.

Your point about the five-year timeline is understandable; large corporations like Microsoft often take their time to carefully evaluate, plan, and implement major platform changes to ensure stability and compatibility. While it can be frustrating for eager users, such decisions are typically driven by a desire to deliver a polished, reliable experience.
