Game recording app keeps asking for PIN password?

Is this safe and should I delete the app from my computer?

    • Go to Settings > Privacy & security.
    • Scroll down to App permissions and select the specific permissions that the app might require (like Microphone, Camera, etc.).
    • Ensure the game recording app has the necessary permissions to function properly.

Yes, Xbox Game Bar is enough for basic recording.

+1. This is a built-in feature and no need to install additional software. It is fair enough for basic game recording.

App Configuration: Some apps have security settings that require a PIN or password to access certain features, including recording. Check the app’s settings to see if you can configure or disable this requirement.

Device Settings: If your device has a security policy in place (like screen lock or parental controls), it may prompt for a PIN. Ensure that your device settings allow the app to function without additional security checks.

Account Verification: If the app requires you to log in or verify your account (for example, if it's a cloud-based service), make sure you're logged in properly. If you've recently changed your password, you might need to enter the new one.

Update the App: Make sure the app is up-to-date. Sometimes, bugs in the app can cause repetitive prompts. Check for any available updates in your app store.

Reinstall the App: If the issue persists, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the app. This can sometimes resolve persistent errors or glitches.

Also check if you see warning from Windows Defender. This is not a normal activity as far as I know!

Delete the app and try another gaming recording software instead.

It means this app is not signed, so it will ask you to enter password.

This is malicious. Usually, no app will ask for PIN password. I suggest using other app to record the game.
