Freeze when alt-tabbing out of games
Hi. For about a week or 2 I have been getting a new bug. My entire PC freezes when I alt-tab out of a game, specifically VALORANT but it happens with other games as well. Playing on windowed/windowed...
That sounds more like a graphics-driver or incompatible-app issue than a normal game problem. Microsoft’s own troubleshooting suggests trying Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the graphics driver, then updating, rolling back, or uninstalling the display driver if the freezes started after a recent change. If it still happens, booting into Safe Mode can help narrow down whether a driver or app is causing the lockup.
I have not seen an official Microsoft statement saying this specific alt-tab freeze is a known Windows 11 issue, so I would focus on driver rollback/update and checking for any incompatible overlay, capture, or GPU utility first.
